Andrew Rizzo Patta’s line of Nike Air Max 1 Waves collabs was inescapable from 2021-2022, earning high praise from the sneaker crowd and even some mainstream shine thanks to the style’s good kind of “what are those” inducing transformation. With that groundwork in place, the brand brought a similar transformation to a four-pack of Air Max 90s last year. Now the Amsterdam-based streetwear brand is coming home with a new collab on the silhouette it knows best, teeing up a refreshed Air Max 1 Waves pack to kick off 2026.
Two colorways have been unveiled by Patta co-founders Guillaume Schmidt and Edson Sabajo, both accented with Hyper Crimson to align with the Netherlands’ soccer kit and a color of national pride. As we’re all familiar, the key shared feature is a reworked mudguard featuring a series of wave-like ripples. One style features a Hyper Crimson mudguard, black Swoosh, and Pure Platinum upper, while the other features a colored Swoosh over a natural white and Pure Platinum backdrop. The shoes come with gold bracelets featuring Swooshes and the Surinamese flag, a tribute to the co-founders’ shared South American roots.
Importantly, Edson’s post caption hints that the shoe will come out on his birthday, which actually falls on Leap Day on February 29th. Since 2026 isn’t a leap year, both February 28th and March 1st are in play. See detailed images below and stay tuned for further updates.
