Oh you thought the adidas Jellyfish was expensive? Pharrell’s latest sneaker has its price beat three times over. The Three Stripes is once again bringing the Louis Vuitton director’s likeness to the world of running, this time debuting a $1,000 model called the EVOLUTION Pro – a new concept based off the marathon-winning EVO PRO 1.

Carrying Pharrell’s Humanrace name, the EVOLUTION Pro features a wider sole and a haptic, touch-reactive outsole for a new sensory-driven running experience. The upper is made from lightweight Monomesh material and features a unique 5D raised dot pattern on the stripes for crazy visual depth. Underfoot, a Lightstrike Pro midsole provides responsive cushioning and all-day comfort.

This marks a rather natural, excuse the pun, evolution of Pharrell’s recent work in the realm of adidas Running. Skateboard P previously dropped a limited collab on the EVO PRO 1 during the London Marathon last year and has more recently debuted multiple takes on the EVO SL trainer, covering both the “super shoe” category as well as the more realistically priced daily trainer market. At $1,000, the EVOLUTION Pro finds itself positioned only for those with deep pockets and/or industry connections – the Tamirat Tolas and Evans Chebets of the running world.
