Everyone and their grandfather knows about the New Balance 1906 loafer by now – an ambitious fusion of office and gymwear and one of the most polarizing and viral pieces of footwear in recent memory. Now New Balance has an equally eyebrow-raising creation in the works: a new spin on the New Balance 1890 featuring an entirely new moc-toe upper reminiscent of the Clarks Wallabee.
The New Balance 1890 is a new retro-inspired silhouette featuring the midsole of the original New Balance 2002, set to debut by way of an Action Bronson collab before etching out a permanent spot via general releases. This moc-toe version is called the 1890A and first surfaced through a snakeskin style all the way back in June of last year. Now three additional styles have surfaced. One comes decked out in forest green leather, while the other two saddle up in grey and beige mesh and leather for a bit more that tech runner edge.
No release info for any of the New Balance 1890A styles has come down yet, only that the look is set to debut sometime in 2026. See detailed pics below and stay tuned for further updates.
