The Fragment Union Air Jordan 1, having already let loose some pairs in its rollout cycle, is now nearing its official wide release. UNION LA has begun releasing official campaign images and announced a February 14th drop via their online store (8AM PST / 11 AM EST). The Urahara Stitch.
This year, we look to Ura-Harajuku—the Tokyo neighborhood where ambitious young creatives laid the foundation for what the world now recognizes as streetwear. More than a place, Urahara became shorthand for a movement born in the early 1990s.
What began in the 90’s became a global cultural moment. It was during this period that Chris Gibbs and Hiroshi Fujiwara first met, forming a bond that continues to shape their work decades later.
The Urahara Stitch reflects years of cultural exchange between Tokyo and Los Angeles. For 2026, that exchange continues— Mastering the Urahara Stitch at the Union Institute of Los Angeles.

The “Urahara Stitch” has become the guiding light for this rollout, obviously represented in the actual tooling that connects multiple colorways and further influencing the surgery theater atmosphere in campaign shots. Beyond that, the history of either outlet looms large over this trio.
Union LA has carved out a true trademark on the Air Jordan 1 via their stitched chimera concept, resulting in mashup grails that pitted the “Neutral Grey” against the “Black Toe” and, just last year, the “Shadow” against the “Chicago.” Fragment is also no stranger to Mike’s first signature, ushering in their seminal collaboration with a “Royal Blue” flip on that same “Black Toe” blocking.
How many colorways are included in the Union x Fragment x Air Jordan 1 collection?
The three partners have, perhaps fittingly, created three colorways that’ll see release. The first of this three-pack, a “Varsity Red/Royal Blue,” merges both aesthetics with Black Toe collars and Fragment hallmarks throughout the rest of the shoe, including brand signatures with the Fragment lightning logo on the heel, an oversized Wings logo, and an exposed foam tongue.
Then to the “Sport Royal,” where the OG black and blue colorway captures something close to the “Metallic Blue” in the collars, though adding distressed suede materiality. Finally, there’s the “White/Black,” leaning on a far more simplistic prompt that reinterprets the collar/toe blocking first seen on the Fragment x Travis Scott Air Jordan 1 High, pinning monochromatic shades on that base and adding a subtle swatch of blue just below the topmost panel.
When does the Fragment Union Air Jordan 1 release?
The official wide release date for the Fragment x UNION x Jordan 1 is February 14th. Judging from the shoes included in campaign photos, all three colorways (the “White/Black,” “Varsity Red/Sport Royal,” and “Sport Royal”) will be dropping via Union’s online store on that date, along with associated apparel pieces. Retail is set at $205 for each one.
Note that some pairs are already in public hands, having dropped the “White/Black” via a network of international boutiques like UNDEEFEATED and Tune on February 7th. That same day, UNION hosted an in-person raffle for LA residents only, distributing pairs of the “Varsity Red” through that channel.
