Nike has since begun righting the ship by zeroing in on one of the model’s most beloved eras, revisiting glossy, Bape-leaning patent looks that feel straight out of the 2000s – both through in-house drops and collaborations.
Lil Yachty is one man who deserves a shout for helping return the AF1 to its former glory, channeling 2000s Nigo energy with a patent Air Force 1 Low “Lucky Green” in 2025. Now he’s caught our eye with another pair unveiled during NBA All-Star Weekend, only this one isn’t meant for a public release.
Here we have an Air Force 1 Mid inspired by the iconic Air Force 1 Low “All-Star” from 2006, borrowing nearly the same color blocking. Beyond the different height, other key changes include metal eyelets and Concrete Boys co-branding on the tongue and lateral heel. A sample stamp on the lining confirms that these are for Yachty only and not intended for public release.
While not one for the people, this further proves that Nike’s head is in the right place when it comes to the AF1. Multiple patent leather styles are set to release in 2026, including a collaborative series by Central Cee, not to mention a Nike SB version and a slew of pairs for Nike Basketball athletes.
