Matt Varga The Shox revival is in full force, notching another bustling retro category for the Swoosh atop the unshakeable mesh runner trends that elsewhere pace the catalog. In an unexpected play, Beaverton has continued to leverage the once-basketball-and-running technology to bolster its female-led offerings, most notably with the kitten-heeled Nike Shox Z.
In an overhaul of that shoe, Nike is now ushering in the “Shox Z Calistra,” turning to women’s label and retailer Naked Copenhagen for its opening act. As with many formalized retakes out of Nike, Inc. as of late, the sole unit remains unchanged from the parent model, leaving the most transformative touches to the upper. There, it is almost a complete overhaul of the Shox Z; the wavy sidewalls instead give way to a sectioned new build with dotted pocks at the heel and an almost croc-like formation running across the toe.
At the risk of burying the lede, carving out the foot entrance and adding a leather strap is where the ballet aesthetics hinted at in our title really come into view. To close out this all-black arrangement, alternating “Nike Shox” and “Naked Copenhagen” emblems appear on the insoles.
This marks Naked Copenhagen’s second link-up with Nike after a P-6000 in 2019, but it is immediately its most notable collaboration under the Swoosh banner. Note that the relationship has not been entirely silent in the time between; Veneda Carter picked the retailer for an early launch of her Air Max Muse in 2025. Release info for the Naked Copenhagen x Nike Shox has not been revealed just yet, but expect this link-up to hit SNKRS soon.
