John Kim The battle of the slim sneaker is still raging on, and Nike is returning to one of their strongest blows of last year to reignite the competition. The Swoosh is tag-teaming with French fashion house Jacquemus once again to bring the slim-fitting and low-to-the-ground Moon Shoe in three colorways, and they’re dropping much soon than you think.
No, these weren’t made for space travel, but the name came rather unintentionally. Originally a track and field sneaker mean for sprints, the Moon Shoe features a rubber traction with distinct lugs that left obvious imprints on the dirt. The pattern was comparable to the marks left on the surface of the moon by astronauts just a few years prior when NASA touched down on the grey orb in 1969.
Simon Porte Jacquemus was given the first chance to reinterpret the model for a Fall ’25 release; cinched ankles and soft nylon uppers gave a restyled aesthetic that made these one of the bigger sportswear darlings of the year. First launching in black, red, and sail/navy, the duo eases into Spring with Aluminum Pink, Soft Pearl, and Fauna Brown.
