Matt Varga After starting the season a bit in the doldrums, the Los Angeles Lakers are red hot, winners of 9 of their last 10 and leaping to the head of the non-Spurs and non-Thunder group in the Western Conference. In an ironic twist of fate, a lack of LeBron in part of that span has at least partially fueled this streak, allowing the pecking order between him and high-usage peers Austin Reaves and Luka Doncic to optimize in the time since.
Could this recent tear help Luka Doncic secure a long-awaited MVP trophy? It may sadly be close but no cigar, but we don’t need hardware to acknowledge Wonder Boy’s stellar play overall. He’s lived up to the “Nice Shoes, Bad Luka” marketing motto, and the “Light Marine” colorway for his Luka 5 casts that into stark relief. That baby blue sets the tone for what’s a delicate overall colorway, continuing through the colorful gradients that overtake the lateral containment and outsole.
The Jordan Luka 5 “Light Marine Blue” releases on April 1st for $140. Keep a bead on this pair, and all the Jumpman has in store via our Jordan Releases 2026 hub.
