Few 22-year-olds get the chance to bring home a gold medal in basketball, and though he was largely on reserve duty, that’s the rare air Edwards entered in Paris during the 2024 ceremonies. Draped in gold and green, the adidas Anthony Edwards 2 “Antlanta” pays homage to the superstar’s hometown, said to “bring residents back to the summer of ’96.” Reading between the lines, it’s clear that the German giant’s designers had the 1996 Summer Olympics in mind, pulling from the pine green iconography attached to the event for this naturally-toned edition. Leaning on a tri-colored script that we’ve seen plenty in the adidas AE2 journey to date, beige anchoring cradles that viridescent mesh body, while the trim between holds onto steady jet black.
