In case you missed it (and we’ve been doing the most to ensure you don’t), we’re dropping our first-ever sneaker collab on May 8th. Sneaker News has teamed up with streetwear icon A Bathing Ape on a pack of Bape Stas inspired by NYC and the visual language of 1990s outdoor gear – and era and streetwear aesthetic many New Yorkers, including us, still hold dear. Two colorways lead the charge, both featuring triple-stacked Sta logos for the first time ever on the model.
The white “Day” edition, limited to 1,386 pairs, channels the movement of daylight hours, while the grey “Night” colorway, limited to just 556 pairs, reflects the late grind of the city that never sleeps, like logging on to write up sneaker headline born from West Coast basketball games. Both pairs are finished with Sneaker News branding on the lateral heel and Collector Club detailing on the tongue.

While firmly rooted in New York, we aimed to make our first sneaker launch a global one. The Sneaker News x Bape Sta releases May 6th (12:00 PM ET) via StockX, giving our millions of monthly readers worldwide a shot at copping this highly limited drop. Then we’re bringing it home with an in-store release at the Bape New York flagship on May 8th, followed by a Sneaker News x Bape pop-up powered by StockX at 70 Hester St. from May 8th–9th. Retail is set at $349 per pair.
