Andrew Rizzo The NBA once again marked Autism Acceptance Month with a league-wide sneaker campaign. During the first week of April, all 32 NBA head coaches wore custom Nike Air Max 90s designed to raise awareness and support for the autism community.
Now in its third season, the initiative is spearheaded by Utah Jazz assistant coach Scott Morrison and his wife, Susanne, who founded the To The Max Foundation after their son, Max, was diagnosed with autism in 2022. Last year saw every head coach don custom Air Force 1s, but with all due respect to the Uptowns, an Air Max sneaker makes much more sense here for obvious reasons.
All 32 unique Air Max 90 customs are available to bid on now via Sotheby’s, with bidding closing the evening of May 18th. 100% of proceeds will benefit To The Max Foundation, which helps autistic individuals and their families live life to the max through meaningful experiences, community connection, and inclusive opportunities.
