Jordan Brand, ever dedicated to aligning the league’s next stars with its most impactful one, looked to phenom Cameron Boozer with a range of blurred teasers, enticing hoops fans on what could be the next trick up the Jumpman’s sleeves.
The Jordan Triangle has now been officially revealed, a sneaker we caught wind of with early leaked images before Boozer mysteriously laced them up on socials. For this unveiling, he and UConn star Sarah Strong are the faces, respectively sporting “Baltic Blue” and “Hyper Punch” colorways; a “Volt” will join those once the model debuts. The low-cut shoe takes its name from the Triangle offense Jordan made his name in, and that visual cue continues through rigid lines across its profile. Ballistic mesh siding and pockets of open space between tumbled leather only enhance that geometric air.
There’s a clear similarity to the Jordan 40 here, especially striking with the overall silhouette of the Triangle and more granularly, in the eyestay/lace configuration. Beyond simple aesthetics, part of the tech combo that made the AJ40 such a standout sticks around here; ZoomX cushioning in the forefoot combines with a Zoom Air unit in the heel for both comfort and energy return. Where this inline model breaks is in the spaces between, as Cushlon 3.0 carrier foam aligns with other recent Jumpman developments like the Heir Series 2.
To wit, the Jordan Triangle lands as the latest development in a recently re-energized Jordan hoops division, as Beaverton has increasingly filled out a catalog aside from Mike’s signature series. The aforementioned Heir family is the foremost example, but adding Luka Doncic’s takedown/outdoor sneaker in the Luka .77 speaks to a willingness to make sure Jordan Brand has a representative in every performance lane possible.
The Jordan Triangle is confirmed to hit the market on July 2nd in all three aforementioned colorways. At the time of this writing, firm pricing hasn’t been announced.
