Matt Varga Nowadays, the term “generational run” is ascribed to things that fall well short of warranting that description. Yet no one was hotter to start 2026 than Teyana Taylor. The awards season press run for One Battle After Another was at its absolute peak, and on a personal level, she launched her biggest footwear project to date with the Air Jordan 3 “Concrete Rose.” She took to social media just hours before this writing, teasing that she and the Jumpman are already cooking up their next project.
Around the time of her initial breakout, the multi-hyphenate first got her footing with Reebok before bouncing to adidas a few years later. Around the turn of the decade, she found a permanent home with Jordan Brand, formalizing the relationship in 2023 with the Jordan 1 High CMFT 2 “A Rose From Harlem.” To be sure, that initial collaboration was a high performer, coming at a hot time for the AJ1 empire in general. Yet her Air Jordan 3, caked in “concrete” on the soles and featuring TPU vines running across the upper, was a step up in many regards.
It certainly was in terms of aesthetic risk and creative license, with Beaverton affording Taylor even more opportunity to develop her narrative with never-before-seen hardware. Further, the shoe has stuck around with serious resale premiums, something that speaks to the overall demand for her second Jordan release and is far from a given on even collab Jordan Retros in the current market landscape.
