After over a decade of partnership and nearly 100 unique sneaker releases, Kith founder Ronnie Fieg is set to debut his first-ever original New Balance model. Enter the New Balance 2011, a fresh evolution of the Boston brand’s retro running category and a tangible commemoration of Kith’s 15th anniversary.
Co-created by Fieg and New Balance designer Sam Pearce, the New Balance 2011 builds on the ABZORB-cushioned sole unit of the New Balance 2002, a foundation shared by other new and upcoming models like the New Balance 1890 and 1954R. The upper, meanwhile, sports a fresh combination of layered suede, leather, and mesh, familiar in spirit to other New Balance models but distinct in its own right.

Fieg’s Instagram posts reveal that the 2011, named for Kith’s founding year, draws inspiration from the brand’s own growth, likened to a sapling growing into a tree. Several of the unveiled colorways, including “Leaf Green” and “Sakura Flower,” stem directly from that concept.
The New Balance 2011 debuts this Friday via Kith channels. Stay tuned for updates, including price and specific retail details.
