Westside Gunn’s Saucony Grid Jazz 9 “Awesome Gods” On Display At PFW

No matter how you slice it, the departure of Jae Tips from Saucony HQ is a blow. Yet, taking a “don’t cry because it’s over” point of view, the Bronx designer did incredibly well to demonstrate that Saucony could be a genuine force in the streetwear lane, something that the brand has built on with its roster of collaborators, ushering in brands and notable names, new and old, to take on its renewed retro roster.

Among the more notable is Westside Gunn, Griselda head, underground hip-hop hero, and overall multi-talent. The Buffalo native has continually teased product from this budding partnership, finally coming to a head with a neon green version of the ProGrid Triumph 4. Now, adding to a flooded red Jazz 9 that replaced the Three Rivers logo with a scorpion, is another trot through the animal kingdom.

Another Westside Gunn x Saucony Grid Jazz 9, titled the “Awesome Gods,” makes an appearance within the brand’s Paris Fashion Week presence. Already worn by the man himself, his penchant for expressive patterns and coloring is on full display; a collision of zebra, cheetah, deer, and abstract pink fur paces the retro runner.

Info on when exactly to expect the Westside Gunn x Saucony Grid Jazz 9 “Awesome Gods” is currently unconfirmed. While we await that information, peruse early images below.
