Andrew Rizzo If Tyrese Maxey, Cooper Flagg, and Cameron Brink continue on their respective trajectories, the future of New Balance Basketball is in good hands. The Boston brand has been steadily rebuilding its performance credibility since rejoining the category via Kawhi Leonard back in 2018, continuing to ink big names and introduce new models to its mainline catalog.
This past NBA All-Star Weekend served as something of a reset on the mainline front, New Balance appearing to sunset its Hesi Low, TWO WXY, and Fresh Foam BB lines in favor of two new non-signature franchises in the P350 and P400. The latter now has a companion, New Balance introducing a low-top version so as to meet the preferences of today’s player.
The dual-density Fresh Foam X midsole of the mid-top carries over, while the collar sits slightly lower for better mobility. The most notable design change is the addition of N-Lock logos a la the New Balance 1906R, a primarily aesthetic feature that also serves lockdown and support.
