Adding a letter, on the other hand, is becoming more and more commonplace as New Balance exhibits a truly freewheeling nature when it comes to experimentation; the 9060R, 1906F, and 204V can speak to that just this year.
In perhaps their boldest move to date, New Balance let loose first looks at the 1890A moccasin before its parent model was even known to us, whetting palates for both the traditional throwback sneaker and its formalized offshoot simultaneously. With the “Morel” snakeskin edition now in the past, the “Dark Night” colorway dims the light from that vibrant debut pair. Almost echoing past “Neon Nights” colorways, the chunky moc style pairs deep royal purple with a black foundation elsewhere, coming to a head via glossy leather branching across the bridge.
The New Balance 1890A “Dark Night” is already appearing on global New Balance channels, likely indicating that a stateside release should be coming within the next few weeks. A $200 retail price is expected upon arrival.
