While leapfrogged by newer models in New Balance’s marketing pecking order, the 9060 still has plenty of mileage left. We saw as much this summer with the debut of the New Balance 9060R, a reworked take on the 99X-inspired silhouette that trades some of its “Made in USA” sensibility for a more overtly technical aesthetic. The standard model, meanwhile, continues on as usual with a steady pipeline of general-release colorways, the latest being this “Thunder Brown/Black Coffee” edition.

Light brown mesh forms the base alongside a similarly colored suede quarter, while a deeper “Black Coffee” tone takes over the mudguard, tongue, and interior. Cream accents outlining the “N” logo provide a welcome break from the otherwise earthy palette, tying neatly into the midsole shading.
