Nike Adds A Scaly Reflective Coat To The Shox R4

You might expect a sneaker category that receives essentially zero marketing to play things safe with clean, straightforward GRs while steering clear of anything too experimental. Nike’s ongoing Shox renaissance, however, hasn’t followed that script at all, instead continuing to deliver standout styles across models like the R4, TL, and Ride 2 with no apparent end in sight.

The latest to surface is a new reflective take on the Nike Shox R4, featuring a Grey Haze shell covered in a scaly, reptilian-inspired pattern that lights up under flash. Black leather on the toe, eyelets, and collar keeps things relatively familiar, while thin rope laces introduce another unexpected wrinkle. Lime Glow accents on the Shox columns and mini Swoosh at the toe round out the look.

The Nike Shox R4 “Reflective” is an SP edition, meaning it carries a $10 premium over standard colorways at $170. Pairs are expected to release soon via Nike.com and select retailers.
