The New Balance 991v2 remains the model of choice over at New Balance’s Flimby, England factory, continuing to deliver new looks season after season built around premium materials and often quietly luxurious colorways.

Here we have the New Balance 991v2 “Rose Taupe,” featuring traditional color blocking with colored suede over a grey mesh foundation. The shade looks awfully close to the recent Kith x New Balance 990v4 “Dusty Mauve,” though it’s not technically an exact match. These won’t turn many heads, but if you’re spending close to $300 and want that price to actually show up in the shoe, the 991v2 remains one of the most premium lifestyle options in its class. You’re shelling out for quality and comfort, not necessarily nods of approval.
