adidas has gone heavy on the Megaride, and in the process, demonstrated the diversity of their collaborative roster and how the visible tech family can meet vastly different aesthetics. While a silhouette like the Predator Megaride keeps global football its main priority, Willy Chavarria has flexed a more alien life for the tech and AVAVAV has brought their out-of-left-field aesthetics to the sneaker.

Now looking to DIOS, the adidas Megaride 01 becomes a trusty steed, enlisted to demonstrate the contradictions in Texas’ modern identity. Chrome hits on the Megaride cushioning, zippers, and various branded trim aim at representing the car culture synonymous with Houston. Yet a more classic cowboy motif begins with a snakeskin patch just above the heel and cementerd with dense embossed leather that wraps the lace unit.

The DIOS x adidas Megaride 01 releases on August 16th, retailing for $180. Before then, adidas and DIOS will host an activation an early release on Saturday, August 15th, taking place from 7 to 10 PM CT at 5011 Navigation Boulevard in Houston.
