Andrew Rizzo The off the court face of the Nike GT Future is back with another first look. Wale visited Washington Commanders Training Camp the other day rocking a never-before-seen “Wheat” colorway that aligns almost perfectly with the football squad’s red and gold, and it appears to bring something new to the model’s catalog.
While hard to tell from afar, the GT Future “Wheat” appears to feature a suede exterior, thus aligning aesthetically with fall staples like Timberland Boots, “Flax” Forces, and if you ask Wale, select colorways of the Nike Goadome. Suede obviously isn’t a common or ideal material when it comes to performance basketball shoes, but Nike’s decision to give Wale a key role told us from the jump that it wants the model to be positioned for lifestyle as well. This pair definitely slots into that lane.
