Matt Varga The announcement of the Nike Pegasus Plus 2 has seemingly closed the book on a looming question in our office: now that we’ve gotten all nine of the models from Nike Running’s reoriented strategy, what’s next? Evidently, a numbered series for each of those nine will be coming about, but the Pegasus Plus has (charitably) seen lukewarm reaction relative to its peers, likely warranting its replacement quicker than them.
Of the three category/three tier grid, the Nike Pegasus Premium and Vomero Premium have been the biggest hits, but trust that a silhouette’s success has never stopped the Swoosh from pursuing a sequel. All of those loose ends can wait, as clearly there’s still more for the Vomero Premium to accomplish, as this “University Red” exemplifies. Toying with a “Triple Red” or “Red October” aesthetic, speckled detailing is how this one stands out, with some almost bloody spots on a silver Swoosh and red spots atop a “Hyper Pink” sole unit.
