Sneaker News Back in February, Simone Rocha used her Fall/Winter 2026 runway at London Fashion Week to unveil her first collaboration with adidas Originals. Seven months later, the footwear is finally preparing to hit shelves.
The collection consists of five releases across three adidas models, each filtered through Rocha’s unmistakably romantic design language. Pearls, gems, lace, ribbons, and ballet references collide with archival sportswear, continuing the designer’s fascination with placing delicacy and femininity against traditionally functional objects.
The adidas Japan Slip-On might undergo the most immediately recognizable transformation. The archival Japan is converted into a backless mule, with pony-hair uppers decorated by pearls across the Three Stripes, oversized ribbon laces, ornate tongue detailing, and soft pink insoles. Both light tan and black colorways are included.
Rocha pushes even further into ballet with the Taekwondo Ballerina. The already low-profile Taekwondo is reconstructed with pleating across the toe and completely loses its traditional tongue, allowing ribbon laces to stretch directly across the foot. Clear gems form flowers and adidas Trefoils at the toe, while pink insoles appear underneath. Two versions arrive in light pink/red and black/red.
Then there’s the Climacool, easily the collection’s most technical starting point. Rocha replaces its familiar construction with leather while introducing lace mesh through the midfoot for ventilation. Three jeweled Trefoils decorate the heel, while the tongue again disappears in favor of ribbon lacing across the foot.
Together, the five shoes take the ballet-sneaker movement somewhere considerably more ornate, combining adidas archive with the pearls, ribbons, lace, and unapologetic femininity that define Rocha’s work.
The Simone Rocha x adidas Originals collection is set to release this September, with additional launch details expected soon.
