Not only is the occasion a showcase of some of the world’s best tennis talent, it’s also, in recent years, increasingly become a place for “it girls” to post up with their Honey Deuce and add some aesthetic captures to their end-of-summer Instagram dumps. If you’re more interested in the latter camp, Nike’s latest tennis collab is for you.
New York-based luxury brand Kallmeyer has teamed up with Nike on a collaborative tennis shoe, available now via the Kallmeyer website. The model is the Nike Tennis Centre, a lifestyle silhouette inspired by the tennis shoes of yesteryear. Kallmeyer’s take is wonderfully understated with a light grey suede upper, cut-edge tongue, and exposed stitching around the heel. Brass lace dubraes with Kallmeyer branding add the finishing touch.
This is just the latest in Nike’s extensive US Open push this year. Spanish tennis star Carlos Alcaraz has become the on-court face of Travis Scott shoes, lacing up multiple collaborative colorways of the Vapor 12, joined by a special “Back to the Future” edition of the Air Tech Challenge II and much, much more.
