The New Balance 2010 Sets Off In “Firecracker” Red And Patent Leather

It’s clear that the New Balance 2010 has a ton of fans internally. Perhaps most prominently, Action Bronson looked to the 99x-inspired shoe as he plotted his New Balance 2811, pulling the wavy sole unit of the 2010 to anchor his first signature shoe. On a more general level, the deluge of new colorways that’ve rushed over our front page in the time since the model first hit shelves is firm indication that NB shot callers believe in the model wholeheartedly.

A building storyline for the New Balance 2010 is its increasing use of patent leather, a material that we wouldn’t ascribe as a familiar one for the Boston brand. The Amine New Balance 992 flexes their newfound love for the glossy fabric, as does this “Firecracker” colorway for the model at hand. It’s functionally a palette swap on the black/green colorway we covered a few weeks before this writing; off-white mesh pairs with jet black patent, given an energetic boost by the veins of fire red that pace the spaces between.

The New Balance 2010 “Firecracker” drops overseas on September 18th, though a stateside drop will likely take place further down the line. As we await more details, catch official images included below.
