The drivers behind that growth aren’t entirely unfamiliar in the sport, with premium positioning and status display creating strong cultural demand expected to keep climbing in the years ahead.
It’s for that reason that Nike’s latest Air Max 95 Golf release rings as clever targeting. The golf version of Sergio Lozano’s lifestyle icon here takes up a special “Korea” makeup that feels sporty yet refined. First and foremost are some considerable hardware transformations. The sides, traditionally composed of multiple independent layers, instead carry a new leather mold made up of multiple ridges, delivering the visual depth the model usually brings in a very different way. Right above, the usual mesh is replaced by Metallic Silver leather akin to crinkled aluminum. The spine and backtab sport cement-like grey finishes, the latter carrying the phonetic spelling of “Nike Golf” across the left and right shoes. Red and blue Taegeukgi-inspired graphics on the insoles provide a direct throughline to the South Korean flag.
