The shoe arrives in an appropriately earthy Desert Dust/Particle Beige/Light Orewood Brown/Terra Blush palette, combining muted pink, tan, and brown shades. Rich tumbled leather covers portions of the base, while speckled overlays add texture throughout for an earthier feel. Ornate stitching surrounding the Swoosh introduces another handcrafted element to the design.
The deeper storytelling is revealed through the packaging. Printed inside the lid of the box is the phrase “En esta familia nadie vuela solo,” which translates to “In this family, no one flies alone.” From there, Jordan Brand introduces the Xolo, or Xoloitzcuintli, as a loyal companion with roots in Aztec history that walks alongside us in life and guides the spirit after death. It appears on the special tongue graphic and insole.

The Air Jordan 1 Mid “Día de Los Muertos” is expected to arrive this October alongside a larger collection, although these have already released in select regions in Europe.
