“Bright Mint” Accents The Deconstructed New Balance 1906A

It feels like we’re several trends removed from the deconstructed sneaker wave that peaked during the Virgil Abloh era, and yet the New Balance 1906A continues to earn its place in the Boston brand’s lifestyle portfolio, here stepping into the autumn months with a timely black colorway featuring Bright Mint accents.

The Bright Mint accent color appears sparingly yet tastefully, covering the heel counter, ABZORB SBS cushioning, and smaller elements like the offset lace loop on the toe box. Black mesh forms the base, matched by an almost all-black midsole. The overlays are what set this 1906 family member apart, appearing semi-attached to the base with extra material sticking out in some areas. Multiple shades of grey define those layers, including light grey leather on the bottom and a darker shade just above. We’re getting some slight “Tiffany” vibes all things considered, albeit the deconstructed 1906A is far from the jeweler’s more refined brand language.
