Andrew Rizzo The sneaker that gave rise to Nike ACG is back on shelves. The Nike ACG LDV, or Long Distance Vector, whose summit of K2 in the 1970s helped inform what Nike’s outdoor division would become, has been pulled back for a retro run to coincide with the sub-brand’s larger relaunch, checking off the retro box while remaining a more than capable outdoor option today.
Next up for the model is a ’90s-leaning “Monarch Purple” colorway, the upper balancing nicely between Monarch Purple, Bold Berry, and Purple Dynasty shades. Orange inner lace loops allow for inner lacing if you so choose, matched by orange ACG logos stitched on the lateral side of the heel. The real meat of the shoe lives underfoot, where Bill Bowerman’s pioneering waffle sole remains capable of tackling rough terrain.
