NBA Media Day is officially underway, meaning players around the league are getting their first opportunity to preview some of the footwear headed our way during the upcoming season. Booker wasted little time providing one of the day’s more notable first looks, continuing an impressive streak of collaborations that have included American auto company Chevrolet and streetswear pioneer Hiroshi Fujiwara.
The upcoming Book 2 collaboration features the unmistakable artwork of legendary New York graffiti artist Futura, covering the shoe in a vibrant mixture of colors and abstract atom-like graphics. “BOOK” appears on the tongue in Futura’s trademark handwriting as well.
The collaboration adds another chapter to Futura’s lengthy relationship with Nike, one that stretches back decades and has produced some of the most coveted artist-driven footwear in the brand’s history. Futura had developed a friendship with Booker over the years, culminating in a collaborative design.
Release information for the Futura x Nike Book 2 remains unknown, but with Booker officially debuting the collaboration at Media Day, expect a much closer look to surface in the near future.
