Save for a rather underrated run of New Balance Rainier colorways a few years back, New Balance hasn’t really explored the lifestyle/trail shoe genre as much as one might expect for a brand of its size. Its catalog is rife with viable off-road models, to be sure, but none that have really been co-opted by the gorpcore crowd. As we dive deeper into autumn, we could be on the cusp of a change. The brand is coming out with a new model called the TL900 for the cooler months, shown here via retailer images ahead of its October 2026 debut.
If you’re at all familiar with The North Face’s lineup of trail shoes, the New Balance TL900 should lend a familiar impression. The upper is made from comfortable-looking padded nylon with minimal branding, anchored by small “N” logos on the lateral side of the forefoot. Protective rubber wraps the toe and heel a la popular climbing shoes, while the bottom half features rugged traction and a slight upward curve around the midfoot.
The New Balance TL900 begins its run with a “Sport Green/Black” colorway for October 2026, though we suspect more seasonal looks of this variety are in the works as well. Retail is set at $160. Check out official retailer images below and visit our Sneaker Release Dates page for more.
