Jaylen Brown’s 7UICE Has A Bape Sta Collab Dropping October 17th

Ingratiating himself into Philly's sneaker scene.

Jaylen Brown’s 7UICE Has A Bape Sta Collab Dropping October 17th

There’s a ton of stars featuring in the upcoming NBA season that it’ll take some time to get used to. It’s hard to argue that any athlete and outfit combo will cause more psychic damage than Jaylen Brown in a Philadelphia 76ers jersey, a product of a transaction that left many scratching their heads, not only for moving off of a former Finals MVP but also for shipping him to a heated division rival. Nonetheless, Brown has done well to acclimate to his new Pennsylvania home already, and he’s bringing that into the realm of footwear with the Jaylen Brown x 7UICE x A Bathing Ape Bape STA, launching early at one of Philly’s steadfast brick-and-mortar stores.

To state the obvious, it’s hard to ignore the proud green piping that coats this link-up between the legendary Japanese imprint and Brown’s streetwear label. Given the long production times that define any sneaker collab, Jaylen was almost assuredly a member of the Celtics as this went from ideation to production, but even without any Beantown ties, the black patent leather and white star make these a clean pair all the same. A co-branded “7uice” stamp on the heel rounds out a simple yet effective overall profile.

This closes the loop on a 2024 sneaker moment before Brown had launched his independent 741 endeavor. Amid public statements decrying Nike, Brown suited up in a custom chromed-out version of the Skate STA. Some two years later, he now enters the canon as an official collaborator of A Bathing Ape.

The Jaylen Brown x 7UICE x Bape STA releases first via an exclusive meet-and-greet launch at Lapstone & Hammer on October 17th. The first 50 fans/shoppers in line will get exclusive access to both Boston’s new starter and a chance to purchase the collab. A wider online launch is set to follow on October 18th.
