Dylan Harper Debuts The Nike GT Uptempo

Three of three now revealed.

Dylan Harper Debuts The Nike GT Uptempo

Performance basketball can be a crowded place, with dozens of signature athletes holding their own designs in the league. Only complicating matters further is how dazzling the next generation of talent is, often holding star power and overall skill that’d challenge for top 10 status in the NBA of years past. To their credit, Nike has found opportunities to put their non-signature hoopers in the spotlight, and as Dylan Harper debuts the Nike GT Uptempo, it’s harder to get higher-stakes than this.

Simply put, the Nike “Greater Than” family has been a truly unbridled inline success in the Swoosh hoops roster, originally beginning with a three-headed approach split between the Cut, Hustle, and Run, essentially delivering on the promise on the tin with traction fit for quick changes of direction, bouncy propulsion for maximum verticality, and plush cushioning to support transition play. In the years since the series began, the Greater Than family has decreased in overall number, clearly positioning the Cut as the internal favorite, as it’s delivered four numbered models and takedowns under the “GT Cut Academy” title.

In 2027, the Greater Than series will change shape once again, returning to the three-model approach with the GT Force, GT Flight, and, the final piece of the puzzle, the GT Uptempo. The nomenclature in these new kicks isn’t an accident, meant to evoke basketball classics of old despite futuristic tech.

What makes the GT Uptempo particularly surprising is the fact that the Force and Flight had been so radically different from what the product line had delivered before. While all-over grid patterns in the upper distinguish the Uptempo from previous releases, there’s a clear connection to the GT Cut 3 in overall shape and to the GT Cut 4 in how the midsole extends past the heel. Though it’s impossible to make a final judgment on tech specs based on imagery alone, the inclusion of Air Zoom is confirmed; ZoomX is also likely.

The Nike GT Uptempo and its siblings are expected to hit the market in 2027, but we’ll likely continue to see Dylan Harper preview new versions of the shoe during Spurs games. This pair in particular is tentatively set for a February 11th, 2027 release date, clocking in at $200. Catch in-game shots included below.
