Sneaker News Nike Basketball’s Halloween collection has no shortage of spooky stories, but Caitlin Clark’s contribution takes inspiration from a childhood memory that has stuck with her to this day. Dubbed the Nike Caitlin 1 “Jinx,” the Halloween-themed release is inspired by a neighbor’s cat that frightened the WNBA superstar during her younger years. There’s no bigger fear, however, than missing out on this release.
Rather than borrowing from a classic horror film or fictional monster that we saw in the other Nike Basketball Halloween releases, Clark’s Halloween costume draws from a more personal experience — specifically a neighborhood feline, appropriately named Jinx, that left enough of an impression on Clark to become the inspiration behind her first signature shoe’s Halloween makeover.
With Halloween falling around the WNBA Finals, Clark will be spending October 31st trick-or-treating rather than competing for a championship. At least she’ll have a fitting pair of sneakers for the occasion.
