Andrew Rizzo Custom Nike Air Force 1s are starting to become a regular thing at sneaker conventions. Following a flurry of on-white logo slaps at ComplexCon, atmos is delivering a little something special for atmoscon this weekend. Creative head Hirofumi Kojima has unveiled an Air Force 1 ‘01 “Harajuku” featuring laser print uppers, available for attendees to win, or maybe even create themselves, at the Nike booth.
First, let’s dial it back to 2016. atmoscon celebrated its inaugural event with an exclusive Air Force 1 pack limited to 50 pairs, featuring “Triple White” and “Triple Black” colorways with “TYO” and “NYC” text for the retailer’s two bases (though atmos has since ceased its US operations). Ten years later, atmos is leveling up its custom game in a big way.
The “Harajuku” AF1 uses the ‘01 cut, the reintroduced shape having quickly become a focal point for collaborations with Nigo and Steven Victor, as well as special-edition pairs like the “Knicks” colorway that dropped via pre-order after the team won the NBA Championship. The atmoscon pair is “Triple White” at its core, with laser print graphics inspired by the Harajuku street map appearing on the toe and heel panels.
It’s not exactly clear how attendees will be able to win the pair, nor whether they’ll be able to customize their own shoes using laser detailing. The post unveiling the shoes says to pop by the Nike booth at atmoscon for details, happening this weekend in Tokyo.
