At this point, the New Balance 991v2 is about as British as a cup of tea. The silhouette has become the face of the brand’s Made in UK arm; though their Flimby operation lacks the seasonal capsules that Teddy Santis delivers stateside, the model has shined in two-pack executions that regularly dot our release radar. However, perhaps a holiday in Bergamo is on its mind, as the New Balance 991v2 issues a collab colorway for Italy’s Atalanta BC.

For the uninitiated, the Serie A squad is one of several global soccer franchises that the Boston brand sponsors, peers in a roster that includes FC Porto, FC Tokyo, and Bayer 04 Leverkusen. Given they’re also responsible for creating their kits, it’s ultimately no surprise that the New Balance 991v2 shown here aligns with the team’s away kits, a blend of light beige and trademark teal. Those are applied onto a black/grey foundation on this shoe, making space for franchise emblems on the insoles.
