The Air Force 1 has dominated The Swooshes release schedule this year in honor of the silhouette’s 40th anniversary, but 2022 hasn’t been reserved for just one celebration with the Beaverton-based brand simultaneously entering its quinquagenarian years. As such, synonymous vintage aesthetics and logos have grouped together a handful of the brand’s most widely-regarded propositions, now closing out the 50-year pack with a throwback Nike Blazer Low.
Coordinating a near-clad cream composition throughout the upper, its laces come color-matched to the entirety of the smooth leather base layer and sock liner whereas a faded shade of cantaloupe envelops the tongue construction. Proffering a seldom dark tan contrast across its suede mudguard, titular red Swooshes extend the angling of its original 1972 tooling while matching suede tongue tabs indulge in old-school cream embroidery and light pink trim. Placing miniaturized black Checks at the forefoot, the effective pitch-dark shading finishes with hippie style “72” insignias affixed to the tongue in conclusion.
While its release date in 2023 won’t technically align with the brand’s anniversary year, enjoy official images of the Nike Blazer Low “1972” below in the meantime.
