UPDATE Jan. 18, 2023:
Bodega recently published a blog post in which it shared the idea behind its forty-second sneaker (!!!) with Saucony: nine different types of material were used across the 3D Grid Hurricane in an effort to recapture a time in which “color, texture, and silhouette was all the context you needed” to sneakers, not hype, high-profile co-signs, and resale prices.

Boston’s Bodega is never not working. To start off another year sure to be full of special projects, the conceptual boutique will release a Saucony 3D Grid Hurricane on Jan. 21.
Although a backstory to the pair’s color scheme or presentation hasn’t yet been unveiled by either party, the pair likely harkens back to 1997 – its debut year – for style inspiration. Premium suede and breathable mesh come together across the upper to form a worthy tribute to the past, while deep green, rich purple, and subdued brown come together on a cream-colored canvas for an experimental and compelling look. Modernized Grid technology is employed underfoot to deliver the reliable stability and shock absorption the New England-based Saucony was known for throughout the 90s. Together, each aforementioned component helps create yet another sleeper hit within Bodega’s collaborative arsenal.
Enjoy an early look at the pair ahead, as you wait for official bdgastore.com launch details.
