Although the Nike Air Max 97 is no longer celebrating its 25th anniversary, the silhouette continues to appear in compelling new styles.
Recently, Christian Tresser’s iconic design surfaced in a black and grey ensemble. Breathable mesh and soft suede come together on the pair’s upper, divvying up faded shades of the two aforementioned colors. Shimmering chrome details interrupt the muted arrangement via branding at the mid-foot and tongue; the center vamp overlay follows suit. The Swoosh has yet to share a backstory for the upcoming Air Max sneakers, but the shoe may be part of a women’s-exclusive collection. Underfoot, the revolutionary model features an off white visible Air bubble surrounded by mostly black tooling. Traction underneath the forefoot introduces a soft blue that complements the stealthy arrangement well.
No firm nike.com launch details have been disclosed by the brand, but that’s likely to change soon. While you wait, enjoy official images of the pair ahead.
In related sneaker news, the Air Jordan 3 “White Cement” returns in March.
