Sneaker News Nike’s “Shima Shima” collection was a fondly-remembered obscure launched two decades. In 2023, it returns sporting a whole new colorway, but not straying far from the original color aesthetic.
Now dressed in “Plum Eclipse”, this Air Max 1 comes dressed with the signature pinstriped interior lining with the Japanese messaging on the tongue. The upper – a leather/suede blend common in cherished AM1 releases – sees a clean white and light grey at the quarter and heel, with the brownish shade returning on the Swoosh and laces.
While there hasn’t been an official leak just yet, we can expect the original color options of the Air Max 1 “Shima Shima” (brown and navy) to return given the sibling silhouette from the actual capsule – the Air Trainer 1 “Shima Shima” – returned as well.
The Air Max 1 “Shima Shima” is now confirmed for a global release on March 10th, 2023; see the official store list ahead to see which local shop is stocking them.
