Nike Air Max Plus OG “Hyper Blue” Returning In 2024

Nike Air Max Plus OG “Hyper Blue” Returning In 2024

The start of spring has seen a number of first looks and rumored announcements of famed silhouettes and colorways returning to shelves in 2024. Having been tucked away in the archives for the past five years, Nike’s figured the Air Max Plus’ OG constructions are past due for revitalization, as news of the model dressing in its iconic “Hyper Blue” scheme has surfaced alongside a tentative 2024 release date.

Receiving its last release in 2018 alongside a duo of “Sunset” and “Voltage Purple” tinted efforts, the mesh upper’s “Hyper Blue” gradient indulges in a closer color match to the original as its former counterpart dulled its tone down a touch. Attributing its typical jet-black contrasts through its presiding rubber TPU overlays, golden yellow Swooshes shine amongst a sea of blue and black.. Cleaning up at its forefoot with a glossy mudguard and split heel-to-toe sole unit, an illuminating wash of white consumes the midsole while vibrant yellow hues fill the interior tooling of the Air Max cushioning system.

While it remains to be seen if the OG interpretation will receive the “Big Bubble” treatment that accompanied its old-school construction and most recently returned to the Air Max 1 ’86, enjoy a look at the Nike Air Max Plus OG “Hyper Blue” via images from its 2013 release below.

For more from The Swooshes’ recent trip through the archives, the Nike Air Flight Huarache harkens back to its “Black/Royal” roots for the holiday season.
