Due to its adoption by the Wu-Tang Clan, and earlier by Jamaican rude-boys in London, the Clarks brand has always been a proud staple of footwear culture. Not quite a sneaker by any means, but the Wallabee continues to be an iconic a piece of footwear in street fashion due to the English brand’s efforts to expand its network of creative partners. Over the years, Clarks has delivered collaborations with the likes of Kith, sacai, Billionaire Boys Club, and more, but it’s also kept its firm ear to the ground by teaming up with fresh faces that are re-shaping the streetwear scene.
VandyThePink, founded by Junghoon Son out of the DMV area, first caught the attention of Clarks fanatics with their limited edition “Skeleton” execution on the Wallabee Cup Boot. Highly limited in nature, the first VandyThePink x Clarks drop laid the groundwork for a much-needed sequel — and it’s here on October 27th.
Inspired by their Vandy Burger mascot, which has appeared in a variety of forms like a plush doll and even a couch ottoman, Vandy opts for a burger bun tan suede exterior above a classic crepe sole. Embroidered sesame seeds sit at the toe-box to establish that classic bun look, while the full fix-ins — lettuce, tomate, cheese, and burger patty — appear via the hangtag accoutrement. The insoles are covered in classic shoe-string fries — a must alongside a good ‘ol fashioned cheeseburger.
The VandyThePink x Clarks Wallabee will be available online at Clarks for $260.
