Brand Slam Sneaker Nike Doernbecher 2014 Event 01

Nike’s global dominance in both the footwear and athletic departments has allowed for them to branch out and pick up a few more assets along the way. Brands like Converse have maintained their original identities all while helping the Swoosh expand their business portfolio and more importantly their profits. Very rarely do we get to see any kind of Nike involvement as obvious as this “Brand Slam” sneaker – a model that appeared in ultra-limited form during the Nike x Doernbecher Freestyle 2014 event. Taking on the form of the Converse Chuck Taylor, the shoe nods at parent brand Nike’s affiliation with the likes of Hurley, Air Jordan, Converse and more atop an iridescent camouflage pattern. And while the assets have changed since the last time we saw a similar promo sample back in 2010, this one of a kind sneaker is a true rarity – only 11 pairs were made in Nike’s Innovation Kitchen. Good luck trying to find a pair for yourself. We do have a better view of the intra-branded Nike silhouette after the click.
