There are no two entities in sneakers that are as time-honored and time-tested as Undefeated and the Nike Cortez. The former is a retailer that needs no introduction, but we’ll remind you of their extensive and ground-breaking résumé that includes what many deem the greatest collaboration of all-time (the Air Jordan 4). The latter isn’t quite exclusive to the city, but it’s a historic silhouette that has Los Angeles as its beating heart. Now that we’re mentioning the two together, we’re wondering why it took so long for Undefeated and the Cortez to finally convene, but rest assured that the wait was worth it.
Today, we present the NikeLab x UNDEFEATED “LA” Cortez SP, a collaboration between the brand’s elevated NikeLab tier and the original “sneaker boutique” that boasts several retail locations. The design itself is a pure reflection of the city, with “LA” on the heel-tabs and a color options that are clearly tied to the local pro team. Add in upscale materials such as premium suede and high-grade nylon as well as impressive touches in the “Por Vida” on the lace-tips and “UNDFTD ’02” on the lace dubrae.
The UNDFTD x NikeLab Cortez SP “LA” will release at all UNDFTD chapter stores and online on November 5th. A limited edition “LA” cap by UNDFTD will also be sold separately.
