A Japan Exclusive Nike Air Max 95 “Mt. Fuji” Is Coming Soon

A Japan Exclusive Nike Air Max 95 “Mt. Fuji” Is Coming Soon

Throughout the incredible history of the oft-beloved Air Max 95 silhouette, Japan has played an integral role in its genesis, whether it be in collaboration with the country’s leading retailer, atmos, or by way of special “Country Camo” creations. Now, the 95 is headed back to the Land of the Rising Sun by way of a “Mt. Fuji”-inspired version of the Sergio Lozano-designed sportswear staple. Serving as the tallest mountain in Japan, Fuji stands at a towering 12,388 feet above sea level and is the seventh-highest peak in the entire world. Besides its incredible beauty and height, it is one of Japans’ “Three Holy Mountains” and has served as inspiration for countless artists and poets as well as being the key object for pilgrimages for centuries.

While a full few of the sneaker has yet to be revealed, we do see Mt. Fuji’s iconic peak taking shape inside the 95’s signature tongue logo as well as a set of trail-inspired laces and the start of an icy blue color scheme with Japan’s flag and a set of Japanese characters placed on its outsole. With pairs expected to release exclusively in Japan in the coming weeks, grab a first look below and stay tuned for release updates as well as full images as we have them.
