Although there’s still just a bit over three months to go until the celebrations of Chinese New Year commence, it’s never too early to anticipate that Nike will unleash some commemorative kicks in alignment with the festivities. Earlier in 2020, we saw the Beaverton-based imprint honor the Year of the Rat with special makeups of the Kyrie 6, Air Max 1, Air Force 1 Low and more, and now we’re getting a sneak peek into what they’ve got in-store for 2021.
The first Year of the Ox iteration to make its way onto our radar is the Nike SB Dunk Low, and right away we find the silhouette outfitted with “What The” style color and pattern blocking. Overlays and quarter paneling between each foot split between floral-adorned canvas and ostrich textures on the left side, while the right side ushers in water color-esque leathers beige cobble stone patterns. Towards the heels, you’ll find the traditional Nike branding swapped out for Chinese characters, but the toe boxes deviate between suede and metallic copper exteriors. Check out a further look at these Far Eastern-inspired sneakers right here, and find these dropping in early 2021 likely on Nike.com and through select retailers.
For other news, the Nike SB Dunk Low Chicago is arriving in select skate shops soon.
UPDATE 12/5/2020:
