Over the years we’ve seen some amazing (and questionable) colorways of Air Jordans and Air Jordan Retros surface on the web. In fact, there might be as many unreleased mock-ups as there are produced versions, but who knows what’s really stowed in the deep dark vaults inside the Jordan Brand headquarters and overseas factories? We’ve compiled a fairly thorough gallery of some notable Air Jordan sample colorways that have never seen the light of day at retail; some of these already have noted legends behind them, like the Air Jordan VI “Infrared” Retro with the flipped midsole and the Air Jordan V “Gold” that may or may not have been made for an employee, but some of the stuff we’ve come across cause us to question why the shoes were never released, or why they were created in the first place! Of course, this gallery isn’t a complete list of every unreleased sample, but take a moment to skim through the gallery below and let us know which unreleased Air Jordan sample catches your eyes the most.

The Speckle blue 4s. The all leather black/grey 1s. Black/gold Vs and White Gold Vs. Any number of them IIIs. Those Blue VIs. The totally infrared outsole black VIs. And i could just go on and on.
And to think they are giving us the black grapes out of ALLLL these Jordans. This cements it for me. After the release of the Laneys...im done with any new JB. This just proved to me they are the most afraid sneaker brand when it comes to trying out new colorways and concepts, and they mostly pick the worst and most tacky looking ones to go out instead (it's no miracle that a decent number of JB fans are the most closed minded when it comes to sneakers as well). Or they just retro the same shit year after year(which goes back to alot of JB fans not really embracing anything new). They separated from nike in branding, but they could learn alot as far as colorblocking. JUST MY OPINION. Relax.
red suede 14s take the cake hands down...
the bronw leather 10 is legit....
Lots of cool 1s and 6s as well... fun article. Thanks #SneakerNews !
White V's with gold NA, the all white VI's, the white/purple/green VII, the all white X with black sole
Two words come my mind looking at these colorways...what and why...what was jb thinking with some of these colorways? and why wasn't some of these released?
I swear those Royal XIs were treated like a Big Foot sighting when they were spotted in an issue of Sole Collector in Gentry Humphrey's closet a few years ago! But as many retros that JB is pumping out lately, all these "Unreleased Samples" will be overpriced GRs soon!
THOSE WOLF GREY/BURGUNDY Vs, THE "CAROLINA" XIs, THEM WHITE/ORANGE XIVs, & THE TOE OF THOSE WHITE/RED XVIIs? Please release lol
Those 1s with Michaels signature are beautiful, the 1s with the Xs through the jordan logo look better than the original Banned 1s, and those reverse infrared 6s are so gorgeous !
The black and red 3s, the all black 5s, and the red suede 13s are niiiiiice. I'd cop those hands down.
@donadamsky the chrome has a red wings logo on the tongue, the QF looks like mine so I don't understand what's different
@fly li I know right? Hahahaha.....
@bfresh89 they look like knockoffs though lol. the 23 just looks out of place
