Matthew M Williams may have spread himself a bit thin, taking the lead of not only his own imprint but also Givenchy. However, despite this, the designer has successfully maintained his relationship with Nike, offering the footwear brand two new iterations of his Air Force 1 High.
While minimal at a glance, both colorways — one black, the other white — proffer signature ALYX motifs. For instance, the high-top’s usual strap is removed in favor of the label’s Rollercoaster Buckle, hardware very much inspired by the COBRA quick release patented by AustriAlpin. Its seen here in a silver metallic finish, held in place by a leather strip whose shade matches that of the Swoosh adjacent. And while bereft of detail throughout the majority of their construction, both pairs finish with the “1017 ALYX 9SM” branding found often on the Williams’ mainline collections.
