Nike’s latest Air Max-themed t-shirt implies that Nike Air is not just a shoe, but an intergalactic species or being that has landed on Earth for us to wear. Powered by the exhalations of today’s premier Nike athletes (a fact disclosed to us by David Koechner in the Secret Behind Nike Air), Air Max indeed has taken the world by storm since its inception in 1987 and continues to do so in 2010. Tinker’s inside-out approach of visible Air has reached a point where EVERYTHING is visible, as seen in the 2009 debut of the new 360 degree full-length uncaged Air Unit.
